What greater gift can we offer the budding young minds of today than a chance at creativity, a chance to dream, a chance to imagine? Well with our brand new Living Dreams competition this World Book Day (March 4th), the figments of your little one’s imagination can truly be brought to life.
This year, we’re celebrating those amazing (and often surprising!) young minds with our Living Dreams competition. The winner will get a surprise to keep forever – and the whole family will win a holiday at Lyons Robin Hood! How will we do this, you ask? Read on to find out more!

Living Dreams: how to enter
Let’s get down to the basics of how the competition works:
- At the bottom of our homepage, you’ll find we recently announced Living Dreams topic intended to spark the imaginations of our mini stars
- Youngsters (of any age up to 18) can write a short story using this given topic as inspiration
- Send us your entries via email to marketing@lyonsholidayparks.co.uk or via post to Living Dreams (Marketing) Lyons Robin Hood, Rhyl Coast Road, Denbighshire, LL18 3UU by Friday, or via Facebook to Lyons Parks by April 9th 2021
- Remember to include your name, age, and your parents’ email address so we can contact you if you win!
- Our Living Dreams team will read ALL entries, and carefully pick out the one which shows the most flare and creativity
- We’ll announce the winner on social media on Monday, April 19th
What will the winner get as a prize?
We’ve thought long and hard about ways we can congratulate the winning Mini Star writer. We bet you’re still playing with your toys from Christmas, and we also know you’ll all be getting lots of chocolate and treats over the Easter Holidays! So, what would be the best way of saying a huge ‘well done’ to the winning Mini Star?
Well, we’ve come up with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young prodigies. Once the overall champion is chosen, simply leave the rest to us – we’ll bring the winning story to life in a surprise format for the Mini Star to keep forever! Maybe this will be a storybook, a cartoon, a moving image…or anything in the world! We’re keeping it a surprise until the winner announced as we think our Living Dreams team should be allowed some imagination too!
The other aspect of the prize is a Winter Warmer Hot Tub Holiday at Lyons Robin Hood, Rhyl.* This will entitle the winner and their family to a 3-night stay at the popular flagship park, their own private hot tub, and access to all the facilities at our flagship park which includes:
- Splash zone
- Kids’ zone and teen zone
- Gym
- Outdoor play area
- Indoor play area
- Amusement arcades
- On-site bar & diner
- Crazy golf course
*Subject to Welsh Government guidelines relating to travel. Terms & conditions apply. Winter warmer hot tub holiday can be transferred to friends/family if the winner is from the local area.
What kind of story can I submit?
The imagination of a child is boundless – and so too is our means of entering the competition! The Living Dreams competition is designed to encourage and nurture creativity, not stifle it in any way.
So with this in mind, you’re welcome to submit a short story. Or perhaps you’re more confident when you’re speaking to the camera as opposed to writing on paper?
Maybe you’re really good at drawing, so why not send us a series of captioned animations in a cartoon-style strip? There really is no limit to ways you can get creative – the funkier, the better!
All we ask is that the submitted story is inspired by the topic we’ve assigned on our homepage. It doesn’t have to be taken too literally, but can be twisted and turned into anything you like (and as long as our Living Dreams team can understand it!)
Having said that, we thought it would be a good idea to mention that Welsh language submissions are also welcome. Luckily, a member of the team is bilingual and would absolutely love to see your entries in Cymraeg! This would be the perfect time to practice those often difficult Welsh spellings, while dreaming and imagining through the medium of Welsh.
Who can submit an entry into the Living Dreams competition?
Quite simply, anyone with a bit of imagination! As long as you’re under 18 and live in the UK, we’d love to hear from you.
Submissions from siblings are also welcome if you’d prefer teaming up with your brother or sister – just make sure you submit it only once and state that you’re doing so as a group/duo.
