99 years ago, all the way back in 1924, Joe William Lyons founded the first Lyons Holiday Park, on a mission to provide the best in British Holiday making. The flagship resort of Lyons Robin Hood that he first founded is still going today, and now the Lyons group has amassed a portfolio of 20 beautiful locations across North Wales and Cumbria.
Lyons then, was founded on family values. It’s success attributed to the friendly, homely feel that customers got when they visited. And despite our growth, that family feel is something we’ve worked hard on maintaining all these years. Our business is still family owned, with Joe William Lyons grandsons; Geoff and Joseph Lyons-Mound, now at the helm.
When you become an owner at Lyons, you become a part of our family. And we’ll strive to make Lyons a home from home for you and your family, allowing you to make memories in the place you love, with the people you love.
Welcome to the Lake District
A home from home...
A rugged landscape of invigorating peaks with infamous landmarks hidden behind every corner that serve as a constant reminder of the regions illustrious heritage. A new home from home for you and your family, welcome to the Lake District.
A welcoming Cumbrian charm of the locals, culinary excellence as well as the plethora of activities here make the Lake District one of the most popular places to visit, attracting over 16 million visitors each year. But it’s vast coverage over North Western England would have you think otherwise.
Holiday lodges in the Lake District are always in very high demand and it’s understandable given it’s breath-taking beauty and luxurious aura about the towns and villages. Purchasing one of our lodges for sale in Lake District is the best way that you can make this place a permanent part of your life.
Of course, one of its biggest pull factors is the illustrious mountain range. All 10 of Englands highest peaks are situated here, including Scaffel Pike, Scaffel, Helvellyn and more.
Across the region there are also a multitude of beauty spots that don’t necessarily require a pair of hiking boots and lots of stamina. Locations such as Catherdal Cavern and Rydal Cave are fantastic caves that make a great addition to an instagram grid, but for all you Wim-Hof wannabes out there; Stock Ghyll Force, Aira Force Waterfal and Tongue Pot are fantastic for an elegant cold water dip.
A mountain range scattered with artefacts of illustrious history, combined with the scenic solitude of the still lakes can spark the imagination of anyone, let alone some of the greatest creative minds Britain has ever seen.
So it’s no wonder it has so many literary connections. John Cunliffe, Arthur Ransome, John Ruskin, William Wordsworth, Alfred Wainwright and none other than Beatrix Potter have been inspired by the Lake Districts utter beauty.
Adventure and imagination awaits you and your family here at the Lake District.
