Frequently asked questions
In terms of size, lodges offer a lot more as they can often be up to twice the size of a static caravan. This makes it an ideal purchase for those who are planning on regularly entertaining guests at their holiday home. Lodges can also be built to residential standards, this gives them stronger insulation as compared to static caravans and an ideal choice for those who would like to spend longer periods of time at their lodge.
Holiday lodges are a great investment for those who want to enjoy regular holidays, at a location they love. Holiday lodges do depreciate, so you’re unlikely to to get the money back that you initially paid for it. Having said that, holiday lodges are always in demand so they can be sublet, which can contribute a healthy amount to your running costs each year.
There isn’t usually any stamp duty levied on the purchase of holiday lodges or static caravans but you should always check with HMRC.
All of our parks are dog friendly. We only ask that dogs are kept on a lead when roaming the park and that waste is disposed of appropriately.
Yes you can sublet* your new static caravan. New static caravans that have mod cons and specs, naturally become more attractive if you intend on subletting, and our owners have managed to earn substantial amounts through subletting. *Subject to Holiday Park
A 20 year age limit which starts from the holiday lodge date of manufacture is applied across all of our parks. Having said that, in some cases we are happy to extend this as long as the unit meets all park standards and is in line with all health and safety requirements. In these special circumstances, the unit will require annual inspections (or more if there are any concerns). This is one of the major advantages of purchasing a new holiday lodge for sale or one of our new static caravans for sale.
Absolutely, holiday home ownership is all about enjoying time with friends and family building memories together. One of the major advantages to purchasing one of the many holiday lodges for sale here at Lyons is their size. As holiday lodges are incredibly spacious, they make it much easier to entertain guests.
It all depends on which park you’re at. We range from 7.5 month seasons to 12 month seasons. If you’re looking to spend a longer amount of time in your holiday home, then we’d recommend browsing through our range of luxury lodges for sale as opposed to a static caravan.
All of our parks are non-residential so they must be vacated for a short amount of time each year. For further details, please contact your park directly.
It’s always best to contact our sales team, as they are normally able to deliver the best and most up to date prices for you, and they can discuss affordable finance options with you too. But if you’re looking to purchase one of our static caravans for sale, you can expect the following costs (figures as example):
