Affordable luxury in a prestigious location...

Sitting proudly above the wooded hills of the Vale of Clwyd, secluded amongst a mass of landscaped Rhododendron colour, Woodlands Hall Caravan Park and Country Club boasts some of the most spectacular views North Wales has to offer giving proof to the adage of the 'Green Green Grass of Home'. Woodlands offers the ideal retreat for either short breaks of a full week of complete relaxation.

The tennis courts and fitness gym should be enough to make you want to let off some steam in the sauna, maybe a leisurely walk in the surrounding woodland or a game of snooker, whichever one appeals to you most, it can be all topped off with a choice of fine dining or just a light snack in the relaxed atmosphere of the conservatory restaurant overlooking the explosion of colour of the landscaped gardens.

Woodlands Hall Caravan Park and Country Club offers you the perfect location to unwind, de-stress and enjoy the holiday you deserve.

4 star ratingFabulous building with ancient wood carving in middle of a caravan site! Well laid out large site with 200 caravans/lodges discreetly placed for privacy.

On the Sunday morning I saw many of the campers were having breakfast in the conservatory whilst residents were in a separate dining room.

I was fascinated by the carved panels around the hall & stairways, apparently brought in by a previous owner.

There are regular entertainment evenings on Saturdays during the season

4 star ratingNew Year Visited for New Year this time and staying in our usual lodge. Check in was quick and always pleasant with Sally. New Years Eve party was very enjoyable, good buffet, great evening, not too busy in there, just the right amount of people so you is not feel crammed in. We usually eat in the hall most nights but this time the Pub Classics menu was just let down slightly. We ordered Cajun chicken and it was nice but only nice. On our last night my wife ordered the Cajun chicken again and it was amazing, spicy hot, presented really well and extremely tasty, it was like a different chef had cooked it as it was completely different to the first meal. Our last night also saw some new items on the menu, aranchini, rump of lamb with fondant potatoes and chocolate brownie with pistachio ice excellent evening of food. So a great stay again just let down slightly by some of the food, but the Pub Classics do represent good value for money and the Sunday Lunch was great too. I think because the food here as always been at an exceptional standard and we have eaten there a notice when a meal does not hit the mark.

4 star ratingFunctional and Convenient I had to be near Ruthin for business and stayed at this Complex which i found to be very convenient. Good value for money compared with the alternative in the area. I would certainly recommend the Hotel to other friends and colleagues.

4 star ratingGood Sunday lunch Very under utilised restaurant. Good fixed Sunday lunch menu in a magnificent setting with views to die for.

Good friendly service and reasonable priced food.

If you are willing to forego the views, dogs are allowed in foyer restaurant.

4 star ratingGreat nights stay and fab room Astounding views from our wood panelled room is their a ghost who knows. The room was really comfy although springs on mattress could be felt and not the biggest fans of beds with foot boards.

The evening meal choices for vegetarians was basic we had a veggie curry tasted a bit like something out of a home bake jar otherwise it was Mediterranean veg tart.

The breakfast gave good choice and the cheese and ham omelette to die for.

Would stay again without question although may self cater or go out for evening meal

Based in a lovely area although a little far out of Ruthin but plenty to do at the hotel and set amongst a caravan park that was well maintained and looked beautiful

4 star ratingWonderfull Views Went last Saturday for an evening meal with friends and I am still not sure how to review it. It's an old country house, which I am sure, in days gone by, was a lovely place to live, but has been spoiled by cramming a vast number of holiday homes into the grounds which you have to drive through to get there. No doubt the holiday park it is very profitable, but as a place to visit for an evening meal, well I would not go again. Having said that, the conservatory restaurant is light and spacious and has very nice views over the Vale of Clwyd and beyond. The menu was not adventurous, but the food was very good and we enjoyed our meal which was not expensive. More

4 star ratingGreat stay Stayed here for one night on our way to Bala. The staff are lovely, bar well stocked and food fairly basic but good value (2 mains for £15). What stood out for me was how clean this hotel is! Despite being a Edwardian building with all the character of such, every inch of the place was spotless including the little nooks of the carvings in the wooden panels. Given the age of the place, I expected the place to be a little fusty but it was surprisingly fresh. Huge credit to the staff who look after this place as they are doing a wonderful job.

4 star ratingWould have stayed longer if we could Visited here as a three night break between Christmas and New Year. Reading the reviews and the price that we paid we were a little concerned. The hotel, which only has 6/7 bedrooms is, as previously mentioned , in a caravan park. The caravan park is nearly all privately owned , and is more like a small, friendly village than a holiday park. It is well kept and the owners obviously take a pride in their "properties"and the area.

From the minute that we pulled up in the car, everyone from the maintenance man( sorry but I'm not good with names) , to the residents chatting to us in the bar, sharing their local knowledge of the area( so picturesque) to Annie with her fasinating history of the house, made us feel welcome.

Our room was clean , tidy and comfortable. Free bottled water in our room was a nice touch. Coffee/ tea making facilities were always topped up. Shower lovely and powerful.

On all three nights we ate in the bar. Food was generous, and tasty. On certain nights a drink comes with the price of your meal so it is worth asking if it is a specials night.

We booked as b and b but where expecting a continental breakfast , so we were delighted to find that we were entitled to a full English (or should I say Welsh breakfast).Compliments to the chef.

The restaurant is housed in a lovely conservatory and the bar/ breakfast room/ and a small play area where all housed within the house_ a Victorian property with mock Tudor carvings and paneling. The decor here was a little tatty but would be expected in woodwork of that age. The icing on the cake would have been an open fire in one of the beautiful carved fireplaces but I imagine you couldn't for health and safety reasons.

We hope to return to Woodlands in the near future and thank you for a memorable stay.

5 star ratingPerfect Christmas Visited for Christmas again. On check in Sally advised that are lodge was not quite ready and offered drinks in the bar. We were early any way but a great touch, great welcome. Lodge as usual was very clean and comfortable. Food was excellent and on some nights we did not want the Festive Menu and could order off the standard menu which was great and means that my review from last year was really taken into account. We had a great Christmas, it went to fast and will certainly return soon. Its a wonderful place to spend Christmas, in great surroundings and with staff that nothing is too much trouble, even from getting my father in law some tea bags on Christmas day to take back to his lodge as he had ran out and shops were shut, just little things like this make a huge difference and keep people coming back. See you all in the New Year, Happy New Year to you all.
