2021 has been one of our busiest years on record. With fears still surrounding foreign travel for many, combined with the nation’s need for a fun-filled family getaway, it’s safe to say domestic tourism has boomed here at Lyons Holiday Parks. In September this year, more than twice the number of guests were staying on-park compared to September 2019. Over the summer, we catered to just over 2,500 holidaymakers – that’s around 10,000 people on average!

1. Lyons Woodlands Hall

This beautiful countryside park has a whopping 4.4 out of 5 on Google reviews and is rated ‘very good’ on Trip Advisor with 4 out 5 stars. It’s also rated as one of booking.com’s “top picks” for Ruthin, with an average rating of 8.4. Travellers have voted the park as “good for couples” and the most well-received facilities are Wifi, free parking, tea/coffee makers in all rooms, and a welcoming on-site bar/pub. It’s also been rated as culinary heaven, having received the certificate of excellence from Restaurant Guru following a wealth of positive reviews.

Steve O’Neill said on Google Reviews: “Would like to say this place is absolutely fab to stay in. The staff are fantastic and really make you feel welcome nothing is too much trouble. Pam, Nicky and Joan are truly amazing people they all treat you like family the food is amazing and freshly cooked. You will not be disappointed once you have stayed there. We had a small wedding there and we were treated like royalty. Thank you all so much, Pam Nicky Joan. Also all the other staff.”

2. Lyons Manor House Park

Rated 4.5 out of 5 on booking.com, 4.5 on Facebook, and 4.5 stars on Trip Advisor, it’s safe to say this Cumbrian retreat is popular among many.

Local enthusiast Claire on Trip Advisor said: “Took our tourer caravan back 2nd time back we were going for a week we have decided to keep it on 3 months now & pre-booked next year. Our kids are 5 and 2 and love it. Family entertainment every weekend. 10/10 for us we love it ❤ ( and we only live 8 miles away.)”

Dawn Tiffen told Facebook: “Me and my mother were looking for the right caravan and right park. We looked for nearly a year. Both finally came together when we met Kerry. I can’t say enough when it comes to her customer service, friendly persona and her nothing Is too much trouble attitude. I can highly recommend Kerry, her team and the caravan park. We wouldn’t buy anywhere else. The food and service in the restaurant and bar are second to none and everyone we met were very friendly. Just the right place to relax. Well done guys 5 stars. “

3. Lyons Lido Beach

Enjoyed for up to 10.5 months of the year, Lido Beach in Prestatyn is a seaside lover’s paradise. The stunning location, quiet and serene setting and general feel of the park is often reflected in the reviews.

Chrissy Johnson said on Google Business: “We had a 4-night break here in May. Lovely site. It was so relaxing we have booked again 4th October. My hubby has just finished his last course of chemo so we need a chill and relax break so this is just the ticket.”

Phil Johnson also said on Google reviews: “Pleasant caravan park where we are staying for a week. Right next to the beach of course and a short walk into Prestatyn. Quiet in general with little car traffic passing through. The caravan is exactly how you’d expect a holiday caravan to be. It’s clean and tidy with a couple of bedrooms.”

4. Lyons Robin Hood

It’s not just the online feedback that means a lot to us when it comes to Lyons Holiday Parks reviews. Hearing owner feedback via email is also integral, as it gives us the chance to see just how much our team, facilities, and parks have a positive impact on families throughout the year.

One happy owner took time out of her day at the end of the season to let us know just how fab our team at Lyons Robin Hood are. She told customer services: “Dan the sports ranger has been absolutely amazing!!! He has such a calming nature and encourages every single child and always praises and motivates them! We have made so many lasting memories that my children will treasure forever!! He really is one in a million and we will miss seeing him every day! I may look a little strange joining in on the dodgeball and rounders but we have had an absolute blast!!

“Meg (lifeguard) has been brilliant and is just all-around fabulous! She always goes above and beyond and is such an asset to Robin Hood!! The pool has never looked better and is spotless!!! Chris the new manager has brought so much to Robin Hood and in this short time he’s been here he has made such a difference! Always listens to any ideas we have and has brought in some fab ideas like the pirate ship and carts! Thank you so much for employing the best people who have given me and my children an amazing summer and giving us such fabulous memories that we will treasure!!!! We are so very lucky and blessed!!!”

5. Pendyffryn Hall

With touring and camping holidays booming this year, we’ve seen a spike in online reviews for our two touring parks in North Wales. Lyons Pendyffryn Hall in Penmaenmawr boasts panoramic views of the Irish Sea and Snowdonian National Park as well as a wonderful clubhouse with weekly entertainment.

Paul Palmer’s Google review says it all: “Fantastic place, touring pitches well set out with great views. the bar terrace has views across to Anglesey and the staff are amazing. Will definitely be going back.”

After the year we’ve all had, with the ups and downs across tourism and hospitality venues, it’s great to know that our efforts to keep guests and owners safe post-pandemic don’t go unnoticed. Bethany Craik said on Google: “Very nice, reasonably priced bar for residents of the site. Visited the bar on a sunny afternoon, and was able to make the most of it thanks to a well-positioned sun terrace. Currently set up as table service only due to Covid, and well organized to handle this.”
