Prestatyn Golf Club
The coastal location of Prestatyn Golf Club makes this a favourite destination with holiday visitors. It can be busy, especially in the warmer months, but if you book ahead, you can arrange a slot for your party to enjoy a happy day in the fresh air. Daily deals are available for visitors, and these include access to the practice facilities and the friendly Clubhouse. The full, 18-hole championship course is open all year round, thanks to the sandy soil which has excellent drainage, even in winter months.
The Great Orme Family Golf Course
This 9-hole Pitch & Putt course is located just a few minutes away from the centre of Llandudno. The best way to reach it, is to walk uphill, through the Haulfre Gardens. You can bring your own clubs if you wish, but you can also hire everything you need to practice your golfing skills with all the family. A visit to this facility is an affordable and fun way to enjoy an active day out. The course is open from April until the end of October, and it caters for larger groups as well as couples and families. The owners will even extend the opening hours on summer evenings if you would like to enjoy some golf at the end of a busy day.
Conwy Golf Club
The facilities at Conwy Golf Club are suitable for golfers of every skill level. There is a large putting green and a practice bunker for these tricky putting skills, and you can also practice on the two chipping greens and two swing practice nets. A full driving range is also provided, right next to the first Tee. Lessons are available in the video coaching room, and you can book as a visitor online or by telephone. The Club has a dress code, including a requirement to wear golf shoes, and so this course is ideal for more serious golfers who know their way around the golfing world.
Abergele Golf Club
The course at Abergele Golf Club is arguably one of the most beautifully maintained courses in the whole of North Wales. Located about half-way between Colwyn Bay and Rhyl, the Club nestles below the scenic Gwrych Castle and its wonderful gardens. There’s a driving range too, and visitors can purchase tokens for range balls at the Pro Shop, or in the bar, after normal opening hours. The Fairway Restaurant is open to non-members, and offers breakfast, lunch and brunch every day of the week. It is advisable to book golf sessions and meals in advance.
