2018 Lyons Charities of the year announced

2018 promises to be another fantastic year at Lyons Holiday Parks with some fantastic events planned for us all to enjoy. Our team members are already looking forward to March when our season starts and the challenge of raising a significant amount of money through the year for our chosen charities for 2018. Taking our corporate responsibility very seriously, in 2017, with your generous support, we raised a massive £21,200.92 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, to help them brighten the lives of terminally and seriously ill children. However, as we will be supporting not one, but two very worthwhile causes in 2018, we are already looking to beat last year’s total.  Whilst again, The Starlight Children’s Foundation will benefit from our fundraising events, we will also be supporting The Guide Dogs For The Blind Association. The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people who are blind or partially sighted never leave home alone. Guide Dogs empowers visually impaired people to do that and relies on the support of the public to fund its services.  Guide Dogs For The Blind breed and train guide dogs which provide life changing mobility and there are currently over 5,000 working guide dog partnerships in the UK. It costs £5 per day to support each working guide dog partnership. The full lifetime cost of a guide dog from birth to retirement is around £50,000.
