The Conwy Valley will be the setting for a truly unique and spectacular surf festival this weekend (14th July to 16th July). Set in the renowned Surf Snowdonia in Dolgarrog, only a thirty-minute drive from some our Wales holiday homes for sale in Conwy, the festival is one not to miss this summer. Offering a host of music acts, covering a wide range of genres, from reggae to indie to dance, you are sure to be dancing, swaying and bopping the day away! Music acts include the renowned Sunset Sons, as well as headline appearances from Cirque du Soul DJ’s and DJ Yoda. The child-friendly event even has a wealth of activities to keep the little (and not so little) ones entertained throughout the day, including a climbing wall, soft play shack and crash and splash lagoon to the silent discos and yoga workshops. There is even a Big Welsh Blob Competition that pits teams of three against each other to make the biggest splash, fancy dress is essential to enter, so we can imagine, whether you are partaking or not, it will be a funny afternoon! There’s no doubt that all these activities are bound to make you a little hungry, so the festival will be home to a number of stands that showcase the best in Welsh food and drink. Expect a grand BBQ, street foods and a stocked bar full of real ales and craft beers (along with all the soft drinks) to keep you all replenished throughout the festivities. If you are heading there from our Conwy caravan site, you don’t even have to drive! The event is organising a shuttle bus between the event and Conwy town, which means you can let your hair down and enjoy a beer (or two!). The organisers recognise how expensive festivals can be, particularly for families, therefore there will be free access for children under the age of 10, in addition to the reasonable standard ticket prices for a festival of this size. If you are yet to get tickets and will be in the area, you can buy tickets online at the Electric Wave Festival website. Alternatively, you can purchase paper tickets at selected locations in North Wales including Bella’s Café in Trefiw, North Menswear in Llandudno, Kai’s Barber Shop in Bangor or at Surf Snowdonia itself. However, be sure to hurry, tickets are subject to availability and could easily sell out before the event. If you have missed the opportunity to attend this year, do not fret. There is always next year, particularly if you have your very own holiday home nearby to go back year after year!
