Following the popularity of Made in Cardiff, the city’s dedicated television channel – not to be confused with the reality series based in Chelsea – it has now been revealed that a new channel will be broadcast; Made in North Wales. The new channel, which will be available on Freeview channel eight and Virgin 159, will offer a 24-hour airing, scheduled to launch on 26th April. The channel’s creators are said to have put in place some spectacular visions for the launch. As a result of the large popularity that Made in Cardiff, Made in Liverpool and other sister channels received, a dedicated platform for North Wales was the logical next step, according to the network. So, what can you expect to see on Made In North Wales? The channel is set to broadcast a host of entertainment pieces from the area, covering a range of topics, with lifestyle, sports updates and the Welsh language, as well as a nightly news bulletin, all on the billing. Additionally, there will also be an online catch-up service for viewers to take advantage of, with the channels producers and editors aware of the fact that it is important to have content that can be viewed at various times and on various devices too. CEO, Jamie Conway, recently spoke about the new channel, saying: “North Wales is a vibrant and beautiful part of the UK and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to entertain viewers living here with programming that will be tailored to their needs.“Our aim is to inspire and engage and we are looking forward to unveiling some fantastic new programming when we launch next month. “We are committed to providing opportunities for local people to get involved in what we do and we’re looking forward to working with the local community in North Wales so that we can bring a channel that is truly dedicated to them.” The channel is also offering advertising packages, with the creators of Made in North Wales envisaging a gradual evolution into a platform in which local businesses are able to promote their products and services, mirroring the successes of the previous channels.
