Ok, so there might be a bit of rain and wind, but if you are prepared, you can have a fantastic family day out. The area between Llandudno and Prestatyn is a haven for all types of cycling and abilities. From short circular routes at Marine Lake, near our Rhyl caravan parks, and the Abergele to Kimmel route, to lengthier routes which tour the nature reserves between, Prestatyn, Rhyl and Rhuddlan. You can explore large areas of car free paths, whilst taking in stunning sea views. If you are feeling particularly energetic, take a 24 mile return ride through North Wales. There’s Caernarfon Castle and steam trains on the highland railway to see. You will be able to see views of Snowdonia’s peaks and Caernarfon Bay and you can even stop for a spot of lunch at the Ingio Jones Slateworks in Groeslon.  Explore Snowdonia with a ride along the outskirts and along the western flank of the range. Most tourists don’t venture as far as this, so it is perfect for a peaceful ride. If you ride far enough, you will be able to see the Nantcol waterfalls, this is perfect place to take some pictures and have a rest. The Hiraethog region is an incredible and unspoilt landscape of rolling moors, deep forests and lakes. This route is easily accessed from the gateway of Snowdonia and there are three routes ideal for families. The Bod Petryal trail is a short easy route. The trail meanders through the Clocaenog Forest and is a haven for wildlife. The rare red squirrels reside here, so see if you can spot them! The Alwen Trail is a new walking and bike riding trail which winds around the Alwen Reservoir. The 7-mile route is perfect for families. The trail is well marked so you and the kids can concentrate on the pedalling. The Brenig Trail is a route which circles around the reservoir, as well as through forests and shoreline. Just remember the Welsh landscape changes with each season, so do your research before attempting any cycle route.
