No doubt if you’re visiting our North Wales you are bound to want to go out for dinner on a night, if not all the nights, of your stay. When you are visiting a new destination it is often tricky to decide or know where the best places to eat are, and sometimes you can be left disappointed or unsatisfied with your restaurant choice. That is where the Good Food Guide comes in handy. Recently the Good Food Guide, conducted by Waitrose, put some of the restaurants near our North Wales caravan parks on a longlist of restaurants that serve up some great food in the UK.If you’re visiting our Pendyffryn Hall holiday park in Conwy you could try Sosban and the Old Butcher’s, situated a 20-minute drive from our campsite. The restaurant is based in a historical Butcher’s shop in Menai Bridge. The restaurant owners pride themselves on the culinary journey they offer their diners. This unique journey is created by throwing out the traditional set menu and creating a daily menu option, that is locally sourced and available to them on that day. This makes it the best restaurant to visit for adventurous foodies who appreciate fresh local produce and trying new dishes. Other entries from Conwy on the Good Food list include The Kinmel Arms in Abergele, which has previously been selected by the Good Food Guide in 2015 for being one of the Top 50 pubs in the UK. It has also been mentioned in the Michelin Guide for 2016. The pub is dog friendly and provides its customers with a cosy atmosphere to enjoy some fantastic fish and meat based dishes. The chefs source the majority of their ingredients locally from Wales or from the North of England to ensure fresh dishes. The pub also provides a fixed course menu for fantastic set course deals. Llandudno is a great seaside place to visit with lots of things to see and do, and all within a short driving distance from either our Conwy or Rhyl caravan parks. After a trip to the beach why not stroll up to the Jaya restaurant, which has also been mentioned on the guide’s list. An authentic Indian cuisine experience, the Jaya restaurant offers home cooked Indian food from a menu created by executive chef and owner Sunita Katoch. The restaurant has also been mentioned in the Sunday Times top 20 secret restaurants that foodies love. Why not treat yourself to some great food on your trip to North Wales?
