Sunday 21st August saw hundreds participate in a 5km run to raise money for St David’s Hospice. The Bubble Rush run was based in Colwyn Bay near our holiday parks in North Wales. The event was a full-filled day with participants sprayed with coloured foam. The run brought friends and family together to support a great cause. St David’s Hospice is a registered charity who give end of life care to the people of Anglesey, Gwynedd and Conwy suffering from a life limiting illness, offering their services and care for free. The charity holds a number of charity events that run throughout the year so people can show their support for the charity. The charity brought down their bubble cannons which sprayed everyone with coloured foam, whilst the run had them running through four bubble passes. The uplifting event was enjoyed by everyone. A participant stated: “Everybody had a lot of fun. You actually got soaked to the skin… We had to run past four bubble passes, but everybody was laughing.” All the money from the event goes directly to the charity to help with the costs. This year alone it will cost more than £2m for the clinical services needed by the patients of the hospice. Previous charity events include the duck race in the Conwy River Festival, which raised £1600 for the Hospice, as well as the Summer Sparkle Ball which allowed 130 glammed up guests who were served delicious cuisine and champagne, in the beautiful setting of the Caer Rhun Hall. The Summer Ball raised £5,000 for the Hospice. The next event is a women only sponsored walk at dawn. The walk will take place in Conwy on the 4th September. Charity events are fun events to do or visit on your North Wales holiday, whilst also raising money for a good cause. Have you planned any charity events on your visit?
