A Brief History of Lyons Holiday Parks

With the announcement of our new Holiday Park joining our collection of North Wales Caravan Parks, we thought that we would take a trip down memory lane and take a look at where our adventure all began!

Lyons was founded way back in 1925 with its self-titled Lyons Holiday Park. Soon to follow, thanks largely to the popularity of the first park, came the purchase of the adjoining Robin Hood Holiday Park. This was to form what we now know as our fun-filled flag ship park, Lyons Robin Hood, Prestatyn Holiday Park.

From the humble beginnings, Lyons Holiday Parks grew in stature and also in the number of parks that were available for our visitors to choose from. North Wales has always been a prevalent location for holidaymakers but as Lyons grew, finally settling on eight parks dotted around the area, it was clear that the hard-working people who proudly donned the Lyons uniform were on to a winning formula. The proof really is in the pudding, as the parks continue to fill every year with faces both old and new.

Soon, Lyons will be able to offer a choice of nine Holiday Parks, giving our visitors even more choice! Anyone who has visited one of our sites will know that each and every person behind the running of Lyons Holiday Parks, and those who helped build it to where we have gotten to now, are proud and happy to be part of the success of some of the best holiday sites in the UK.

A sunny day in North Wales at Lido Beach, Lyons Holiday Park

From the honest and simple holiday park in North Wales that started the journey off, to being the biggest and best family-run holiday park operator in the North Wales region, Lyons continuously strives to offer the best in holiday home accommodation, services, and entertainment. Even now, some 91 years later, Lyons continues to be run by the same family! And with their commitment to making happy memories for families for many more years to come, the team at Lyons are always striving to improve not only our parks but also the customer experience for our holiday guests and owners alike.

The Lyons Group incorporates eight stunning holiday parks (soon to be nine) throughout the North Wales region, as well as offering two restaurants, luxury hotels and also Lyons static caravans for sale, Wales, meaning you can find our renowned quality and service in a range of hospitality options. From all at Lyons Holiday Parks, we sincerely look forward to welcoming you to one of our locations very soon!

I remember The Robin Hood Holiday Park in the Fifties when the Children’s home I was in at that time, was able to visit. There was such excitement which grew the moment we arrived to the tune of ‘Volare’ being sung by Dean Martin, being pumped loudly through the camps speaker system. Apart from getting sunstroke and staying in bed for three days it was a memory I treasure.

Lyons in the 80s was like going back in time.
It was so far behind the rest of the caravan parks in the area.
Very scruffy and run down and the caravans were all for the 50s 60s and 70s.
    But I loved it.
I was on Robinhood next door which was been modernised and up to date and i love looking at the old caravans on Lyons.
