North Wales film producer up for an Oscar

Known for its attractive holiday destinations, many of which are situated near our North Wales caravans for sale, the Northern region of the country also now boasts having a film producer from the region set to be on the red carpet, at the Oscars, no less!Kimberley Warner who is from Colwyn Bay had her documentary Claude Lanzmann: Spectres of the Shoah is shortlisted for the short documentary category at the prestigious film awards. The talented produced will join fellow Welsh nominees Christian Bale and Sian Grigg at a star-studded evening, with all three vying for renowned prizes in their own respective categories. The 29-year-old said: “I’m absolutely over the moon and thrilled for the whole team. “Also I feel honoured to be alongside fellow Welsh nominees Sian Grigg and Christian Bale. “It’s great to know thanks that all the sleepless nights, doubts and prodigious door-knocking has got us to this point. It really is a dream come true.” Kimberley’s production, Claude Lanzmann: Spectres of the Shoah, conveys the story behind one of the most influential documentaries ever made – Shoah – which includes nine-and-a-half hours of interviews with a number of Holocaust survivors, along with witnesses and German perpetrators. Kimberley has already seen her documentary earn a contract with HBO, but has now joined just 10 short documentaries shortlisted for an Oscar nomination. During a visit to her parents in Colwyn Bay before Christmas, Kimberley said: “I can barely think about it. It’s hard to imagine what impact this will have on us.
