Most of us will admit that there is nothing more pleasing than a good old-fashioned hug. Well if you’ve not given or received one in a while then today is the day, because it’s National Hug Day! Known as both National Hug Day or National Hugging Day, it takes place on 21st January annually thanks to Rev. Kevin Zaborney, who founded the day on March 29, 1986 in Caro, Michigan. It is officially recognised by the western world, although it is not accredited with public holiday status. The idea behind this national day is to help boost the numbers of people who show emotion in public. There’s a very simple way to help celebrate this day, by offering a hug to anyone and everyone you want! You might find many similarities between National Hug Day and the Free Hugs Campaign, but as of yet, there is not an actual association between them. There are some wonderful benefits to giving a loved one, family member, or friend a hug, both physically and mentally, so get hugging! We’d love to see the love being shared, whether that’s at one of our Wales caravan parks, or somewhere totally different, so why not post your pictures to us on social media using the hashtag, #NationalHuggingDay?
