Lyons Have Raised Thousands for Charity Over The Past Year!!

Lyons Holiday Parks do a great deal of fundraising across the whole group for both local and national charities. One in particular was for Children in Need, Lyons group had a number of different fundraisers in order to raise money for this great cause, from a Teddy Bear’s picnic at Woodlands Halls, a Halloween Fun Day at Lido Beach to a Pudsey Party at Lyons Mounds. This was an extremely successful fundraising campaign and over all we raised well over £1000. We also do a lot of fundraising on behalf of our owners, they are an extension of the Lyons family therefore when they ask for our help with fundraising we do what we can to help them.  Lyons Lido Beach have raised an incredible amount for charity over the past year for a number of different causes, in particular the money they have raised for PITT Hopkins disease and Duchenne Now (a charity dedicated to finding and funding treatments for eventual cure for all living with Duchenne disease). Most recently their fundraising efforts have gone towards raising money Supporting Soldiers Off The Street.  This weekend Lyons Lido Beach is going to act as the finishing line for Lance Corporal Foster Gump who is going to finish two marathons in just 48 hours, he is estimated to finish around 12pm! In conjunction with this we are going to be holding a fun day in order to help raise money. The festivities will commence from 1pm, we have lots planned:

Don’t miss out on this fantastic event for a fantastic cause be sure to tell your friends and family to join us all at Lyons Lido Beach to make it a day to remember. Lyons Pendyffryn Hall have recently raised another £1,000 towards the St David’s Hospice charity taking the grand total to date to an incredible £15,000! Resident, Sheila Lloyd Jones and friends of Lyons Pendyffryn Hall Caravan Park in Dwygyfylchi, Penmaenmawr raised a fantastic £1,000 from organising a coffee morning on site! This brought Pendyffryn’s Fundraising for St David’s Hospice to nearly £15,000 in memory of Sheila’s husband, Derek. Sarah Holmes, the Park Manager said, “Over the last 8 years we have supported Sheila in many fundraising activities on the Park. We are really proud to be part of the Fundraising efforts and are very pleased to support St David’s Hospice as it is such a worthwhile cause. We are looking forward to carry on organizing Fundraising events over the next few months.” Over the last year Lyons Robin Hood have made a number of donations to charities, one of our largest donations was towards a Motor Neurone Disease Charity, they donated a free holiday which was given to one of the members of the charity suffering from the disease. Lyons Robin Hood also offer donations to local charities including Dyserth Animal Hospice, this is usually done in the form of a charity raffle where by we have offered donations including a ‘Free meal for 2 and a bottle of wine’. Robin Hood have also done similar raffles to raise money to support Soldiers off the Street, in conjunction with Lyons Lido Holiday Park. Lyons Eryl Hall and Lyons Mounds both work closely with local animal charities, one in particular being an abandoned animal association charity in Prestatyn. For both parks this was something that was set up by the owners, as it is a cause close to many of their hearts, seeing as the majority of them are pet owners themselves. They have both raised money in different ways, from bingo nights to fun days, they have made an effort to help the owners raise money for a cause that is extremely significant to them. Lyons Woodlands Hall have partaken in quite a bit of charity over the last year, they have regular McMillan coffee days, which is supported greatly by our owners. Last year they held a number of events in an effort to raise money for children in need. In the last year Woodlands have been raising money for a charity known as HIP which is for children with head injuries, as well as supporting these two foundations they also make donations to local charities. Later on in the summer Woodlands will be having a fundraising day in memory of one of our owners that sadly passed away due to cancer. Woodlands have worked with the owners family to organize a fun day and the money raised will go to the McMillan Hospital in Liverpool, which is where the owner was originally from. Throughout the rest of the year we donate to various local charities. Lyons Winkups raise money every year for local Lifeboat and Poppy appeal charities. Earlier this year they also had a fundraiser for one of their owners children, the money went towards the make a wish foundations and all together they managed to raise an incredibly impressive £3000. We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our residents and guests that have donated their time and money over the years to help us in our fundraising efforts!
