Now in its fifth year, the hugely popular Colwyn Bay Forties Festival returns to a wow the masses as it promises another spectacular spectacle that is sure to be even bigger and better than its predecessors! Taking place this weekend, (16-17 April), and in-keeping with the forties theme, the festival offers visitors a true taste of the era, with a true celebration of the wartime spirit of Britain in the 1940s. You can expect to see a whole host of music, entertainment, period uniforms, and stalls dedicated to this period in time. Over the years the festival has boasted the likes of the Lilli de Carlo and the Llandudno Swing Band, as well as tribute acts for the past greats such as, Vera Lyn, George Formby and Winston Churchill, and there’s set to be more of the same this year to keep one and all entertained! Additionally, the festival will once again be welcoming back the highlight of the weekend – The Ballroom Blitz Dance – a traditional 1940s dance hosted in the town on the Saturday night. If you want to see how its really done, head to the Ballroom Blitz and see the finest costumes from yesteryear and enjoy the music! There’s plenty more to see and do, with local food and produce stands on offer, as well as demonstrations, vehicles, a weapons display, and even a replica plane! A truly spectacular event not to be missed, and only a short distance from our North Wales caravan holidays!
