By night, this stretch of sand is home to one of Wales' rarest species, the natterjack toad. At one time, these sand-loving creatures were found all along the sand dunes of the North Wales coast as far as Anglesey, but today they are limited to this one small, unspoilt location. Talacre is a good kiting beach too, with around five miles of sand to play on which is extremely wide at low tide.
